LAHORE: The Federal Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces to ensure security arrangements for the upcoming T20 cricket series between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
According to ministry sources, the deployment will be for security and protection duties. The Pakistan Army will be deployed under Article 245 of the Constitution, while Civil Armed Forces will operate under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
The decision follows a formal request from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for comprehensive security arrangements. Orders were issued by the Interior Ministry based on the approval of the federal cabinet.
It is worth noting that the Bangladesh cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on May 25 for the T20 series.
